Workplace Mediation

Pauline Tarrant Consulting houses two experienced NMAS nationally accredited workplace mediators who can assist parties in conflict either through a facilitated discussion or mediation process.
Mediation is a structured and facilitated process where an independent, unbiased third party (the mediator) supports two parties in conflict to share their interests and positions and move towards actionable resolutions that are owned by both parties. Mediation can be used to address a wide variety of interpersonal conflicts in commercial or civil disputes and is an effective tool in resolving workplace conflicts, with a high success rate (c. 80%).
The mediator’s role is to provide a ‘witnessing’ role to the two parties, reflecting back what parties have shared, opening up or slowing the pace of the discussion as needed, enabling them to express their desires, hopes and the impact of challenging experiences. The mediator works to identify underlying personal narratives, beliefs, miscommunication and assumptions that may be driving the conflict, shaping opportunities for both parties to feel seen, heard and understood by each other. The mediator will gently enable the parties to recognise past concerns, and to move beyond them towards addressing present and future needs.
